Design for Merritt Athletic Club Expansion in Canton has 'come a long way'

The first phase of a $60 million project to expand the Merritt Athletic Club in Canton got preliminary schematic approval from the city's architecture review board on Thursday. After taking harsh criticism from the design panel last month for not adequately addressing concerns from an earlier presentation, developers from Merritt Properties LLC came back with a proposal that focused on the project's first phase.
